Commissioning Ceremony of Fiji’s Ambassador to the United States of America.

Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Fiji to the United States of America Mr. Amenatave Yauvoli took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Execution of Office at the State House, Morning Room before the President of the Republic of Fiji His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote on 1st July, 2020 at the Morning room, State House.

The President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Major- General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote, First Lady Madam Sarote Konrote, Ambassador of the Republic of Fiji to the United States of America, Mr. Amenatave Yauvoli with his immediate family members at the Morning Room, State House.

Also in attendance were First Lady, Madam Sarote Konrote; the Permanent Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, Immigration and Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan and other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Office of the President; the Ambassador Designate’s immediate family.

Ambassador Yauvoli attained a distinguished career as a Fijian diplomat and has been a civil servant since 1988. Additionally, he was the Director General with the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat based in Port Vila, Vanuatu  (2016 – 2020). Prior to this, he was the Fijian Ambassador for Climate Change and Oceans  (2015 -2016) and Interim Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF). Ambassador Yauvoli served as Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs  (2013 – 2014). 

Ambassador Yauvoli possesses profound educational background attaining a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics and Management from the University of the South Pacific, Suva  (1988). He further attained a Master of Commerce in Development Economics (1994) and a Master of Commerce (Honors)  (1996) both from the University of Wollongong in New South Wales. Ambassador Yauvoli attained a Diploma in Multilateral Trade Negotiations from the World Trade Institute (WTO)  (2000)

The Commissioning ceremony of the Ambassador Designate ended with a formal photo session of their Excellencies, the Ambassador Designate with his immediate family followed by refreshments.
